In Nueva Esperanza in 1965, in a rural community of Kukama origin located in the Amazon jungle, a large fire destroys a school. Lady, a young teacher who suffers from a slight disability in her left leg, helplessly watches as the wooden building is devoured by tongues of fire. She will gather the courage to undertake a long process to fight for the reconstruction of the school, while she tries to regain paternity of her daughter. In an era where the male figure has great power, can a young Amazonian woman, alone and unprotected by the law, impose herself on an entire mental and normative structure?
